As noted previously, we had to drive through heavy snowfall to get to Gimsøy Kirke. Shortly after leaving the church and heading to our next destination, John shot this photo through the windshield for me with my smart phone. Coming from Texas, and not being used to much ice and snow, it amazed me how well we were able to move around on roads in this condition. The people of Lofoten don’t hunker down like we do when there is ice and snow in Texas; they go about their days like normal. For driving, the studded tires on our van served us well … that, plus Örvar, an excellent, experienced driver from Iceland.
