In April, I traveled to Bern, Switzerland where I
attended a work related conference. Bern in April is cool and very rainy
and this trip was no exception. Being in meetings all day along with the
inhospitable weather didn't allow me a chance to get out and explore Bern, but I
did manage a few photos from my hotel window (outside of which was the
ventilation system for the hotel's restaurant one floor below).
However, I did have an opportunity to get up into the mountains with colleagues and friends Ron, Ginny, Dave, and Lisa over the weekend and we caught some break in the dismal weather. To get there we followed my GPS to a foot trail, turned back and found the cable car station that took us up to the small villages of Gimmelwald and Mürren. That's where most of the photos in this collection were made. Also, on my last full day there, our conference group to a trip to Wimmis where we toured the Nitrochemie propellant plant. This day was gorgeous and afforded some more opportunities for photography, especially of recent snow in the mountains above Wimmis and of Lake Thun in the town of Thun, where we stopped for an hour on our way back to the hotel.
